The Island Stroll CAL 2022
SistersInStitch + Yarn and Colors
“Come away with me and take a stroll by the sea and listen to the song of the ocean on the
docks. Lets saunter in the sunlight and feel the summer slowly arrive, and take a walk in the deep woods of the island. Let’s exhale and take some time to simply be, to relax and create. Let’s travel in the mind to the Swedish archipelago and all the beauty it has to show.”
Part 2: The Oh I Adore Square
Welcome to our second week of the Island Stroll CAL. Oh my, last week was absolutely amazing and its such a joy seeing all your beautiful Ponding Lily Squares over on Instagram.
Thank you so much for sharing them with us!
This week we will continue with the vividly happy Oh I Adore Square. It’s filled with a gorgeous popcorn textured flower and is definitely one of my own all time favourites. It’s playful popcorn centre symbolises the rocks and pebbles of the seaside cliffs, and the tall mountains in the woods.
A little note before we begin:
For this week we will be using the same pattern for both the blanket and pillow, the only difference is the size of the yarn you are using: Super Must-Have or Must-Have.
Below you will find the downloadable pattern files: one in color and one as a printer friendly version. As we only know how to speak English (and Swedish) here at SistersInStitch: the pattern are written in US-terms and the comprehensive stitch by stitch tutorials will be shown in that too.
In the Island Stroll CAL: Stitch Guide you will find techniques, abbreviation and terminology lists to help you out a long the way, and they are including UK and Swedish shortenings!
If you wish to view the pattern on your device: this is the file for you.
If you wish to print or just read the pattern without colors, this is the file for you.
All the tips, tricks and stitch descriptions that you’ll need throughout the CAL.
And as always, when the CAL is finished; the pattern and tutorials will all stay available here on SistersInStitch so that you can crochet whenever the time is right for you.
Now grab your yarn, scroll on down and let’s begin the crochet fun..

- dc3bobble (three double crochet bobble)
- sc2tog (single crochet two together)
rnd 2 (Mustard/Cream/Limestone)
*1 dc4pop in the next st; rep from * til end, close with a sl st into the center of the first dc4pop
– 6 dc4pop
rnd 3 (Mustard/Cream/Limestone) Begin by making a slip stitch into the space between the dc4pop (i.e around the closing ch1-space):
*1 dc4pop + ch 1 + 1 dc4pop + ch 1) around the next sp between two dc4pop, skip the next st; rep from * til end, close with a sl st into the center of the first dc4pop
– 12 dc4pops, 12 ch1-sps
rnd 4 (Mustard/Cream/Limestone) Note! The closing slip stitch from rnd 3 counts as the first for this rnd:
*1 sl st in the next dc4pop + ch 8, skip the next ch1-sp; rep from * til end, close with an invisible join to the first ch
– 12 ch8-sps, 8 sl st
rnd 5 (Old Pink/Denim/Pearl) Note! You fold every other ch8-space from rnd 4 to the back whilst working the dc4pop (in front of them) around the ch1-spaces from rnd 3. Begin around any ch1-sp placed between two dc4pop:

– 12 sc, 12 ch6-sps
Note! In rnd 8 you work a decrease over single crochets from rnd 7. Starting around the given ch-space, begin as a normal single crochet (2 loops on the hook) and before doing the final yarn over; go under the next chain space, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on the hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops. You are never working in the single crochet of rnd 8 but the head of the decrease falls right on top of it with one leg placed in each ch-space.
