The Island Stroll CAL 2022

SistersInStitch + Yarn and Colors

“Come away with me and take a stroll by the sea and listen to the song of the ocean on the
docks.
Lets saunter in the sunlight and feel the summer slowly arrive, and take a walk in the deep woods of the island. Let’s exhale and take some time to simply be, to relax and create. Let’s travel in the mind to the Swedish archipelago and all the beauty it has to show.”

Part 6: The Thumbelina Square

whoop whoop!

The sixth week is here and we are now passing the halfway mark of our Island Stroll CAL, can you believe it?! I sure cannot.. This time we will revisit the beautiful Thumbelina Square from week three to make our final pieces.

Please note that if you are making the blanket you’ll only make two more, but if you are making the pillow you’ll make three: the additional fifth one will be used to close our pillows up at the very end.

“The Thumbelina Square is an absolute cutie and once you get the hang of its petals and leaves turning; she will be a quick breeze to work up. It’s gonna be so much fun!”

A little note before we begin:

For this week we will still be using the same pattern for both the blanket and pillow, but we will be using different colors for rnd 13.

We will also be making a different amount of squares depending on which one you are working on:

*For the blanket you will now make two pieces which will give you four finished Thumbelina Squares in total.

*For the pillow you will now make three pieces which will bring you to five finished Thumbelina Squares in total.

Below you will find the downloadable pattern files: one in color and one as a printer friendly version. As we only know how to speak English (and Swedish) here at SistersInStitch: the pattern are written in US-terms and the comprehensive stitch by stitch tutorials will be shown in that too.

In the Island Stroll CAL: Stitch Guide you will find techniques, abbreviation and terminology lists to help you out a long the way, and they are including UK and Swedish shortenings!
